Class Placement

Advancement is based on the individual student’s progress, as recommended by our teaching staff.  The first month of classes the school director will evaluate each student’s class placement.  Proper placement is vital to the musician's and dancer’s success.   It is our aim to have students of the same skill level enrolled in the same class. 

Weather Cancellations

In case of severe weather, please call The Arts Center office or visit the web site for cancellations.  There will be a message indicating any changes in our schedule.  Classes cancelled due to weather will be subject to available make-up times.  No refunds on weather cancellations.

Communication

Newsletters will be posted in the lobby of The Arts Center office and will be sent to our families by email on a monthly basis.  Notify the office if you have a change of address, phone number, and/or email so you will stay informed with the latest news. Please be sure to read all the information and contact the office if you have any questions. 

Observation

The Arts Center School of Music and Dance will open the viewing window the first lesson of the month to watch the progress of your dancer throughout the year.

Substitutions

The Arts Center School of Music and Dance reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and the studio cannot arrange a substitute, any missed classes will be made-up.

Attendance

In order to take full advantage of the instruction offered, regular attendance is essential.  If you are unable to make class, please call The Arts Center office.   There are no refunds

Performance

The musicians and dancers have worked hard all year and this is their time to shine.  In the spring, we will host a music concert and a separate dance recital.  Participation in the annual spring recital is not mandatory, but is a beneficial and enjoyable opportunity for students.  Please notify the The Arts Center office in writing by October 15^th if you are not going to participate. Spring Recital information will be available in October.

Guidelines

• Be on time and come prepared for each class. 
• Attend class regularly to achieve optimal results.
• No street shoes are allowed in the dance studio.
• No eating, gum chewing or drinking in the dance studio.
• Positive and courteous behaviors are expected.
• We never speak negatively about teachers, dancers, or parents from The Arts Center or other schools.
• Have fun!
